I’ve been eating LCHF/Keto for more than 3 years now and have been in my body’s happy spot for more than a year. The idea of rushing to a destination (goal weight) has been something I’ve struggled with for a while. But like this quote says, this is a journey with no destination. This is my life now and I love it.My full book review, found below, is broken into the two main sections of the book, the Getting Started Guide and the Recipes.The Getting Started GuideThis is what I wish I had when I began my journey 3 years ago. This first part of the book includes discussion of how to keto which breaks down the mystery of macros and portion size. The images created especially for this book drive the points home about how to balance fat, protein and carbs within a meal. Next, Kristie talks about being prepared. She includes grocery lists and practical meal planning tips the leave little room for excuses. In section titled “Eating Keto”, Kristie presents a plan to navigate the real world—restaurants, social situations and holidays. Again, Kristie helps to eliminate the opportunities for failures by teaching you to plan ahead. The Getting Started section concludes with a massive four-week guide to beginning keto. Again, this piece sets you up for keto success by providing tracking forms, motivation and encouragement in the form of daily readings, and a lesson on the mile markers of keto success which go far beyond weight loss. Self reflection and self accountability are strongly encouraged!And the recipes!!Kristie's Vanilla Coffee Creamer was just what I needed to start my morning! It was a difficult choice between the Vanilla Creamer and the Mocha Latte, but Vanilla won today. I can’t believe how the Vanilla creamer thickened! It is luxurious and silky. Kristie was right to include a note that says not to go sticking your spoon in it, it is very rich! The best part? She also included a dairy free option for this one as she does many recipes in the book!!I am incredibly excited to see all the breakfast options in this new book. While I've been keto for a long time, my husband is only 3 months in. One of my biggest struggles is providing him with enough variety for breakfast. I’ve heard many complain about the same thing regarding keto. While I could eat bacon and eggs all day long, I can’t wait to fix the Western Quiche, Dutch Baby, Savory Dutch Baby and the Simple Keto Pancakes with Simple Pancake Syrup for him. I may even be able to leave him on his own to make the One Minute French Toast! The best thing about these are how simple they are!!I am also thankful for all the side dish recipes like Peppery Green Beans, Squash Casserole, Southern Table Pickles, Parmesan Baked Tomatoes, Bacon Wrapped Asparagus and Cucumber, Tomato, Feta Salad. I can't tell you how releived I am to have new side dishes to add to the mix!! Keto isn't all meat, eggs, and cheese, you know!The book also includes The Basics, Small Bites, Mains and Break the Glass. All of the recipes are appropriate for cooks of any skill level and with a basic pantry supply. The only special order ingredient is Whey Protein Isolate which is used in a few recipes.I encourage anyone interested in pursuing a ketogenic way of eating to check this one out.

Well, Christmas came early this year and I got my book "Keto Living Day - by - Day" by Kristie Huneycutt Sullivan. I got it through Amazon PRIME.Here's what I want to say....if you are struggling to understand the ketogenic diet, how it works, what you can and cannot eat. need a meal plan, need a grocery list....all of the questions....please buy her book immediately and give it a read. It's worth the money to spend on yourself to make your life so much better.Don't go straight to the recipes (I know that is tempting!), but read her story, how the keto diet works, understanding macros, etc....it is so good and will really give you a better handle of this way of eating (WOE) and the keto way of life.Her story is inspiring, encouraging and you will feel like she is talking directly to you, because she is! You will feel what she went through because most likely you have experienced it yourself and you will cheer her on as you see how this way of eating changed her life. It will give you hope and reassurance that it can do the same for you...and although the number of the scale sometimes doesn't move as quickly as we would like, that what you are on is a journey and not a sprint and that eventually if you keep at it, you will see your goals reached.Kristie Huneycutt Sullivan I know you put your heart and soul into this book and it is evident in each and every word.You owe it to yourself ladies and gentlemen to give this way of eating a true chance. I absolutely love this book, it is really more than a cookbook, it is an explanation about why and how the KETO way of eating saves lives, and I mean that literally. Read the book and do your own research! I learned a few years ago not to trust "the experts" because they lie. Check out how fat became the bad guy in the mid to late 1960s and isn't it funny that's when so many people started becoming obese and diabetic brought to you by a company wanting to sell you their little white granulated product that was put in food to make it taste good since they took all the fat out. Through my research I found Kristie's You Tube videos and first cookbook (thank you Lord I can have biscuits and gravy again). I then found her Facebook Group where real people share real ideas and tips. She and her admins guide over 100,000 people to getting healthy and losing weight. I was impatiently waiting for this book to come out and was not at all disappointed! It gives a great overview of the KETO way of eating as well as tips to help you along the way. I found the part about "gaining and losing the same couple of pounds" very helpful, when she explained why that is and how to know that it continues to be progress it immediately took away my frustration. The recipes are easy and delicious, and the tips on eating out are very useful as well. Thank you for a great book to help those of us in transition back to a real way of eating instead of eating the garbage the "experts" have been recommending for decades that have done nothing good for us.

I wish I had this book two years ago at the beginning of my journey. Kristie Sullivan has clearly poured herself into this book, her passion for helping others is clearly evident. This book is a perfect tool to help people start a successful keto lifestyle. This book is jam packed with helpful information as well as worksheets and recipes that make keto living easier to understand and achieve. For myself, this book is a great refresher for me on my journey. Kristie Sullivan has changed my life and I will be forever grateful!
