I found this book highly informative, inciteful and entertaining. Many of the recommendations in this book go against the current fashion in adventure motorcycling which is trending toward bigger, more expensive and more complicated. I was fortunate to discover Pavlin’s YouTube channel before I purchased my bike (Honda crf250l), so I ultimately saved thousands of dollars and avoided other equipment purchasing mistakes. The book then helped me avoid other errors and it has provided me with a solid foundation for an ideal adventure motorcycling philosophy.Just a note on some Issues; (1) the book is concise, so if you buy the paperback version, you might consider it high priced. For me, the savings in avoiding mistakes and unnecessary equipment more than compensated for the book price. However, if you’ve already invested in tons of equipment and have set your travel philosophy (i.e. closed your mind), then you might not be happy with the book. (2) The author is a non-native English speaker and he apparently self published the book, so there are some grammatical errors and typos. Again, you’ll just need to read with an open mind because the grammar and minor typos do not interfere with the final message.
Pavlin's book, The Next Level of Adventures is a highly informative book on the how too's of motorcycle travel, be it a long trip or a short one. The book is written in an easy reading style, with plenty of personal examples to back up his travel tips. Personally I like the fact his advice centers more on the traveler, preparation, and the trip, rather than the motorcycle and all of the gadgets you can drag along, that is more of what adventure is all about, to me anyway.
Hi there, I throughly enjoyed this book and recommend it highly, as a 62 year old man who has been riding a motorcycle since I was 14 years old I thought I knew a bit, WRONG. I learned so much from reading this book it’s embarrassing. Well done Pailin and thank you wonce again!
