Just received my 'Bird Art' book by Alan Woollette. At the risk of sounding over-the-top, I must say that I'm simply overwhelmed. The formatting of the book is magnificent - beautifully rendered color plates provide very clear images of the colors used - Alan Woollette's amazing talent for composition and drawing gives one an inside view of his expert technique and analyses of each subject. But, I think what comes through the most is Alan's love of the subject, his touch with the colors, and his ability to provide us with a true tribute to colored pencil art! Amazing and wonderful. Thank you, Alan.
Many wonderful pictures, techniques explained in full. And many draw along projects. Don't miss this one if you are a bird or drawing enthusiast.
This book is magnificent. The art is so beautiful it's hard to turn a page. Alan Woollett does a thorough job of explaining his process. The design of the book is beautiful too. The pictures are large, colorful and clear. I have been collecting art books for 30 years and this is one of the best. (I am not a professional reviewer, just an amateur artist.)
This book is beyond gorgeous! Alan's work is perfection and the phenomenal photography shows it off. You can hardly not drool over each page. One of my favorites in my extensive library.
Just love this book! Would have loved to see a demo on creating a flamingos' feathers. They are such beautiful birds...actually; all nature is lovely.
